We are looking for a Project Manager - Senior

Role description:
Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects within the information technology department. Oversees all aspects of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Builds and maintains working relationships with team members, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project.

Summary of tasks:
Responsible for coordination and completion of large scale and more complex projects;
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures;
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals;
Negotiates changes in scope, budget or calendar with Project Owner and/or management;
Leads and directs the work of others;
Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department;
Provides guidance to other project managers;
May act as a Program Manager;
Identify resource requirements;
Identify milestones and critical success factors;
Communicate and collaborate with people across the organization, partners, clients and vendors to get work done;
Ensure project transparency with timely and effective project communications;
Escalate issues and risks with available options as appropriate;
VERY IMPORTANT: Lead steering committee with the Senior Managers.

Skills:
10 years;
Knowledge of PMI Methodology, PMP certified. Macroscope Methodology or PRINCE 2 an asset.
Experience with large, complex Infrastructure / Telecom / Computing type projects, such as:Telephony (PBX, IP), Network upgrades (Cisco Nexus, Palo Alto, Alcatel), Backoffice services (Windows 10, Windows 2K16 migrations), Geo distributed Telco implementations & migrations (Microwave Radios and Towers upgrade), Security Systems Upgrade (Firewalls, Forensics appliances), SAP / SAP HANA, Business Warehouse, Websphere implementation and other large backend implementations
Master of project management best practices and strong ability to communicate with senior management;
A demonstrated ability to deliver projects on-time/on-budget that meet business objectives;
Strong leadership, negotiation, facilitation and interpersonal skills;
Quick learner, autonaumous and comfortable managing ambiguity in a fast paced, changing environment;
Knowledge of Microsoft Projects Professional Server (PPM)/PWA);
Fluent English / French;
Experience working in IT Projects part of a Transportation or Rail industry an asset.
