Our Large Calgary client has an immediate requirement for a senior Project Manager to join their newly formed Canadian PMO to help with both IT and non IT based projects. This role sits in Vancouver BC but reports to the Manager who sits in the Calgary office.

Experience & Education

• University / college degree or equivalent industry experience plus 10 years of progressive
project management related experience
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a requirement

Skills & Competencies

• Judgment with tasks at hand and appropriate communication with direct supervisors and stakeholders
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
• Report and escalate any variances in budgetary spend or requirements as needed
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in personnel management and leadership;
• Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
• Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently and flexible during times of change
• Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines
• Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources including upper management, clients, and other departments
• Ability to defuse tension among project team, should it arise
• Ability to bring project to successful completion through political sensitivity
• Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products
• Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
• Strong analytical and customer service skills
• Strong focus on delivery and quality; ability to ensure quality and accuracy of reports and deliverables, with a focus on attention to detail
• Expertise in requirements gathering for areas such as Finance, Human Resources, Marketing
• Experience working within the legal industry an asset
• Excellent communication (written and verbal)
• Superior organization skills and attention to detail
• High level of confidence to make suggestions for process improvement and issues resolution
• Exposure to SAP is a definite benefit to the success of this role
• High level of competency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as Microsoft Project and Visio
