Do you have previous risk management experience working for a large organization? Have you previously handled risk control review and rating? Are you looking to continue to develop you risk and compliance knowledge? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for you!

We are currently looking for a Risk and Compliance Analyst to work a 6 month assignment in our client's - a globally recognized bank - downtown Toronto office! In this role you will work full time hours from Monday - Friday and earn a competitive rate between $30 - $35 per hour (based on candidate qualifications). As a Risk and Compliance Analyst you will be responsible for ensuring adherence to applicable regulations and standards by setting policies covering regulatory requirements. This will include but not be limited to:

• Monitoring remediation of issues identified through testing, in addition to audit issues, management issues, regulatory issues etc.
• Helping produce monthly MI packs for senior management on results of key risk indicators, quarterly committee packs on testing, and any other reports, as required
• Testing key controls that help mitigate material risk
• Co-ordinating and supporting with the Risk and Control Assessment (RCA) update exercise and executing the Internal Control Monitoring Plan (ICMP)
• Testing effectiveness of controls through sample testing / specialist review / KRI monitoring
• Maintaining internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
• Monitoring remediation and reporting on all issues and actions for the Business and tracking them to timely and appropriate closure.
• Engaging with both regional and country Operational Risk teams on projects, risk activities and any new initiatives, as required.
• Establishing monthly MI dashboards and quarterly committee packs on results of testing in addition to ad-hoc presentations required by management.

Qualifications
• 2+ years of relevant experience in operational risk and controls, preferably gained through working in front office, risk management, consulting role in financial industry, Audit, Compliance or Operational risk management
• Advanced knowledge in internal control, compliance, banking operations, risk management – Financial Crime, credit, operational and information and conduct risk management
• Strong grasp of internal control standards and best practices in operational risk management
• Knowledge Global Banking and Capital Markets products
• Knowledge of the changing regulatory environment in the financial services sector
• Strong leadership qualities and proven track record in driving change and influencing people
• Developed communication, presentation and influencing skills set
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
• Sound ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet scheduled deadlines
• Observe high standards of professional conduct in the performance of duties
