We are currently looking for a Senior Communications Specialist to work support our client (a leading Canada bank), working out of their Scarborough office. In this role you will work full time hours from Monday to Friday on a 12 month assignment, and earn a competitive rate of up to $48 per hour, based on qualifications.

As a Senior Communications Specialist you will help drive employee awareness, engagement and brand advocacy by delivering innovative and engaging communication strategies and messaging to the bank’s employees. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
• Enterprise and Targeted communications
• Build employee awareness of BMO’s enterprise narrative and a connection to the brand through informative and engaging internal communications across multiple platforms.
• Work with colleagues across the bank to identify and proactively develop company product and service related stories that align with the departments strategy to drive business growth and industry-leading results.
• Lead the editorial and program strategy for the department (internally and externally)
• Apply best practices in communications, leveraging external vendor knowledge and industry expertise.

Accountabilities
Strategy Planning & Execution
• Provide leadership and create communications strategies for all employee facing communications
• Assess all communications requests in areas of responsibility to determine relevancy, appropriateness, pacing and sequencing, and alignment to business priorities
• Plan and proactively source editorial content from multiple business sources for various vehicles including BMO’s Intranet site, BMO On-the-Go mobile app, video and Senior executive presentations
• Proactively develop and manage communications for Key Programs and Projects including: communication strategy, message development, vehicle selection, writing/editing, production, and distribution, ensuring appropriate coordination and consolidation across initiatives and programs, as necessary. This can include:
☺ Online, email and in-hand employee communications
☺Produce daily blogs for senior executives
☺Product engaging employee polls
☺ Deliver newsletters, organizational announcements and leader profiles content
☺ Delivery of content via intranet, internet and PowerPoint presentations
☺ Ensure clarity and conciseness of all communications, and availability in both official languages
☺ Develop measurement plans to ensure the various communication vehicles are meeting business objectives and the needs of our employees
☺ Develop and secure necessary approvals to implement communications strategies and plans
☺ Ensure communication solutions are aligned with established standards (eg Guide to Change Management and Communications, company Style guide, etc)
☺ Seek out opportunities to apply other new and innovative approaches to reaching employee audiences as part of active participation in the strategic communications process and implementation of tactical plans

Qualifications
• This position requires a senior level communicator with 5-7 years of experience in enterprise communications.
• Experience includes writing content, in a comprehensive fashion to address a variety of technical and non-technical audience, uploading content on the web, uploading videos and processing videos.
• A degree and/or post-graduate diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or related discipline is required.
• Experience in a corporate environment is essential.
• This position requires a solid understanding of strategic communications planning, writing, and editing and project management skills.
• Requires good understanding of specialized communications practices (approach, tools, brand, measurement, etc.) as it pertains to business and employee communications.
• Proficiency in the development of various digital electronic communications vehicles is also required.
• The role requires an individual with business acumen, confidence, excellent judgment and interpersonal skills that can consult, influence and collaborate with colleagues across levels and business groups.
• The specialist must demonstrate an ability to create communications for senior management and to an executive and leadership committee member.
• This position requires superior relationship management skills, the ability to work independently and strong judgment to know when to escalate issues.
• It also requires a strong detail orientation and an understanding of the importance of delivering excellent ‘client service’ to business partners and stakeholders.
• This position should have knowledge and industry experience in global information security.
