Senior Purchaser
West Edmonton, AB
$40 hourly Temp to Permanent opportunity

We are currently accepting applications for a Senior Purchaser position for a well-established engineering/manufacturing company in West Edmonton.
The Senior Purchaser plays a critical role in developing, managing, and improving the company’s supply chain. An integral responsibility for the Senior Purchaser position is developing secure relationship with strategic vendors while striving to exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). This role is a team contributor position, working with internal and external customers to exceed their requirements.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Places and monitors purchase orders, reconciling as required
- Actively contribute to cost reduction activities
- Monitor and measure supplier performance
- Evaluate and present RFQ’s and RFP’s
- Responds to inquiries placed by internal or external customers
- Additional duties as required and requested

This role is starting as a temporary placement with the intent to become permanent.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will be someone looking to advance their career with a stable and innovative company, while also being willing to participate and contribute to the day-to-day tasks of the team. They will bring a "get it done" attitude and a friendly but professional demeanor.

They will also possess:
- SMP or SCMP designation
- 5+ years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in resolving vendor discrepancies and negotiating prices with vendors
- Impeccable time management skills
- A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
- Experience in using JDE preferred
- the ability to communicate precisely in the English language
