Our client, Canada's #1 bank is hiring a Senior Tax Manager, International Taxation for a +1 year contract (to cover a mat leave).
The contractor will directly assist Senior levels of the Taxation Group with identifying and implementing international tax planning initiatives and providing specialized international tax advisory services, with an emphasis on the Canadian taxation of international subsidiaries, to all Business Units. In addition, the incumbent is directly responsible and accountable for ensuring that the bank's Canadian tax reporting and tax compliance obligations as they relate to the bank and its international subsidiaries are completed in a timely manner.

Daily Responsibilities:
• Prepare and file related party and foreign reporting information returns for foreign affiliates (Forms T106 and T1134) as required by Canadian tax laws with respect to international subsidiaries.
• Collaborate with the other Senior Managers, International Taxation in preparing the computation of Canadian income tax liability with respect to the unremitted earnings of foreign affiliates of the bank and its Canadian subsidiaries
• Prepare the calculation of FAPI for the bank and its Canadian subsidiaries for assigned affiliates and respond to audit queries from tax authorities
• Work closely with and support the Senior Directors, International Taxation, Senior Tax Counsel, International Taxation and VP International Taxation in identifying, researching and resolving international income tax issues (i.e. Canadian FAPI issues, tax surplus, local tax matters, withholding taxes, and tax treaties).

CPA, CA - must have
• At least 2 years of full time tax experience in a large corporation or CA firm with a focus on rules specifically related to the Canadian taxation of international subsidiaries
• Strong knowledge of Canadian federal income tax laws, foreign affiliate taxation rules and international tax treaties
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax accounting and financial acumen
