If you have experience in the health sciences (Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, rehabilitation, etc) and like to develop your career in disability case management, we have an opportunity for you in Winnipeg that you would be interested in. In this role, you would manage short term disability claims from intake to payment. Our client, a large insurance company, is looking for an action-oriented individual with strong team building, relationship management, and problem solving skills to join their team in their Winnipeg office.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Setting up new short term disability claims.
• Making decisions on claims using contractual, medical, functional, and vocational analysis
• Written and verbal communication to clients and stakeholders within the medical community
• Maintain productive relationships with internal team members to maintain service level
• Address escalated client concerns and develop case management plans to either facilitate a Return to Work program or a transition to a long term disability option

On a typical day, you could expect to accomplish the resolution of short term disability claims, address escalated client concerns and develop case management plans to either facilitate a Return to Work program or a transition to a long term disability option

• 2+ years of kinesiology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, disability management, or similar exp
• Must have familiarity with medical terminology;
• Strong customer service experience;
• Strong problem-solving and decision making skills;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Insurance claims knowledge or experience is an asset
• Intermediate PC skills - including data entry, MS Word and MS Excel
