Role description:
The PTC Enterprise Architect Team is seeking a Reverse Engineering & Automation Specialist_ EA Sparx System to join the team in CN’s headquarter in Montreal. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail oriented, striving for excellence, and committed to convert into models and artifacts the end-to-end PTC implemented systems completely and accurately. Reporting to the lead architect, this role is responsible for translating a set of existing systems and specific products/applications integrated with CN’s environment from source code and descriptive formats into designed models within Sparx Enterprise Architect. This includes an active communication with SME’s, a deep discovery and analysis of existing documentation produced by both project implementation teams and vendors, a positive attitude to challenge, evaluate and assess related architectural artifacts and IT operational organization against industry best standards. This role is also responsible for converting manual modeling tasks to automation. This includes, setting up and standardizing the automation process, providing extensible and reusable automation code and ensuring code is being built in such way to optimize modeling and documenting activities related to systems. A successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in multiple scripting languages ranging from VBScript, JavaScript and Python as well as programming languages such as C, C++/C#, and Java.

Structure and refine the framework of EA repository to ensure the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of the information being captured. In the mean while, striving to make the information in EA easy to navigate and consume by the EA user community
Define governance rules, policies, and processes to ensure the sustainability in creating, maintaining, and publishing the EA repository
Work with PTC Solution Architects, Segment SMEs, and System Integrators to gather information on PTC solution and implementation
Understand the solution architecture, identify key architectural artifacts, and document various components of the target architectures and the system integrations in a simple, cohesive, and easy to understand way
Define change control process, interview architects, SMEs, and system integrators to validate any changes on the documented solutions.
Prioritize the tasks and lead the EA modeller to ensure the alignment of documented solutions with the real PTC implementation.

Bachelor’s Degree in, Computer Science, Engineering, Information System, Business or related field
7+ years’ experience designing and managing information systems and associated business processes and requirements
3-5 year experience using Sparx Enterprise Architect(Or similar tool) to document artifacts, automate tasks and perform reverse engineering
Practical experience with TOGAF architecture framework and concept of service layers
Experience in modeling with BPMN, UML, ArchiMate and SysML standard notations
Experience in using script languages, such as VB Script, JavaScript, and Python, to automate tasks and develop applications
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, with high proficiency in English
Focused on continuous improvement, and able to anticipate future circumstances
Ability to understand the long-term ("big picture") and short-term perspectives of situations
Ability to summarize and express the characteristics of numerous systems and their interactions
Participate in cross-domain activities and changes.
Facilitate consistent information acquisition, access, security, change management, archiving and recovery strategies at the enterprise level
Participate in Developing, delivering, maintaining, communicating & governing Enterprise standards, guidelines, frameworks and models that make up the architecture
Effective organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
Ability to organize team and workload in order to achieve objectives and targets
Proven influencer and communicator with stakeholders at various levels
Ability to work and develop partnerships effectively with colleagues, managers, and stakeholders in a variety of situations

Knowledge of transportation industry in general
Knowledge of different organization domains such as operation, maintenance, system development and integration, network, data, application, business, IT infrastructure, support, logistics, etc
Experience in writing SQL queries and producing reports and dashboards
Experience with Agile methodology and Kanban tool for managing team effort
