JOB DESCRIPTION

STRUCTURAL DRAFTERS with TEKLA Structures Software experience
Edmonton, Alberta
Permanent, Full-Time

We are looking for STRUCTURAL DRAFTERS with experience using TEKLA STRUCTURES SOFTWARE to fill the requirement of our client in Edmonton. The Drafter will complete structural and miscellaneous shop drawings. Tekla software experience is mandatory for this role.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include:

• Develop 2D CAD drawings of steel structures and reinforced concrete foundations based on the Engineer's verbal direction or rough sketches
• Develop detail welding and bolting connection drawings
• Produce erection drawings for field installation
• Provide fabrication drawings for manufacturing plant and other machining files as needed
• Prepare material takeoffs and Bill of Material (BOM)
• Liaise with estimating, fabrication and field teams
• Assist in building and upgrading structural design library and company product catalog
• Occasional site visit/inspection may be required
• Other duties and tasks as appropriate to the needs of the business


Education (Theoretical Training)

• University degree/diploma in structural engineering or related education


Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience of structural steel detailing and concrete drafting experience in industrial / residential / commercial
• Proficient in use of AutoCAD is a must
• Experience in various types of steel and concrete construction methodologies
• Experience in conventional and deep foundation systems
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
• Good written and oral communication skills (English essential)
• Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules
• Self-motivated , detail oriented and ability to multi-task
• Ability to fit into a fast-paced team environment and/or work independently
