Randstad is hiring a Press Team Lead for a rapidly growing company in the Brampton region. We are seeking a driven, career focused Press Team Lead who is people focused. As the Press Team Lead with this wonderful Brampton company you will be responsible for the following;

- Work alongside and supervise a team of 6 to 8 operators ensuring that they work safely and efficiently
- Meet and exceed press targets by optimizing the operation of the press, stretcher & saw
- Circulate throughout your crew on a regular basis to ensure efficient operation
- Maintain the visibility (KPI) board throughout your shift and communicate issues with the press team, discussing how to get back on track
- Review the shift report in computer software (EPICS) and provide feedback on wins and losses to the Production - Manager and the Plant Manager
- Ensure operators are conducting quality checks for visual & dimensional requirements according to control plans or test inspection procedures
- Monitor workload and get help from other teams as necessary to keep presses running during shift
- Start each shift on time and ensure all team members understand their duties and are assigned work
- Ensure operators check press alignment once per week using the die slide.
- Continually coach and train employees on best practices ensuring the team is provided the skills required to be successful
- Troubleshoot problems and make adjustments when required
- Provide feedback to die shop and scheduler regarding any unusual die performance

Qualifications
What are we looking for?

- Candidates should have a minimum of 3 or more years’ production experience in an industrial environment with press machinery
- Must have some experience as a leader within a small team environment
- Should have a good command of English, written and oral
- An understanding of measurements, tolerances, basic geometry, and the ability to read blue prints
- A background in a mechanical field or a mechanical aptitude would be an asset
- Grade 12 education/GED and relevant production experience is required
