We are currently recruiting for a Team Leader, Systems Design. This fulltime position, located in the heart of Downtown Montreal will report to the Director, Systems. The Team Leader designs and reviews applications, including the user interface, databases and backend services. It ensures the sustainability of applications and optimizes reusability and malleability of components.

Main Duties
• Define and review application development guidelines
• Define the optimal mechanisms for integrating applications and their components
• Develop implementation strategies, including planning and timelines
• Ensures that environments and systems are and stay sustainable
• Analyzes complex business needs and develop sustainable solutions
• Actively participate in the design and development of applications and systems
• Develops and supports complex relational databases
• Develops an automated testing practice
• Provide technical leadership to the other team members through coaching and mentoring
• Responsible for performance management and evaluations for the team
• Identify and encourage areas of growth and improvement within the team
• Maintain high-standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits


• Bachelor’s degree in computer science
• 7 years of experience in applications design
• 7 years of experience in object-oriented programming and with Java technologies
• 7 years of experience with large relational database environments (SQL / PLSQL)
• Experience in overhauling and transforming legacy environments
• Application modeling experience related to business process transformation
• Experience in modeling and deploying complex applications
• At least 3 years of experience in SOA deployments and micro-services
• At least 3 years of experience in automated deployment technologies (DevOps)
• UNIX, AIX / Linux, Jenkins, Dockers and application deployment automation
• Experience in Agile project management environments

• Knowledge of organizational change management principles
• Experience with JSF, JSP, AJAX, JavaScript environments
• Experience in redesigning workflows supporting business processes
• Knowledge or experience in the financial sector (eg. insurance) an asset

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, both French and English
• Excellent leadership skills, able to create and communicate strategy
• Excellent skills of time management, priority setting and planning
• Be pro-active to identify risks and look for mitigation plans and workable solutions
• Very strong technical and analytical skills
• Ability to structure and organize; good synthesis skills
