We are seeking a Technical Writer for a contract opportunity with a well established high tech manufacturing client of ours in the Vancouver area.


•Plan, develop, organize, write and edit high-quality documentation including but not limited to: Company policies, procedures and processes
•Research, develop and document technical design specifications and test scripts
•Produce electronic documentation in addition to hard copy manuals
•Work with internal teams on product and documentation requirements and Facilitate information gathering across key stakeholders and multiple teams
•Maintain a comprehensive library of technical terminology and documentation
•Analyze documents to maintain continuity of style of content
•Manage updates and revisions to technical literature
•Contribute to environment of continuous improvement by creating reusable templates and standards


•Must have minimum 3 years’ experience working as a technical writer
•Experience as a technical writer for a technology company; software, hardware, electrical engineering is preferred
•Knowledge of technical writing principles and educational theory
•Proven experience converting process documents written with narrow focus to a higher level of abstract content referencing industry standard documents
•Proven skills in managing technical interviews with subject matter experts
•Experience in applying the principles described in the Microsoft Manual of Style, the Chicago Manual of Style, and the use of plain language
•Comfort and ability in working with highly technical concepts, terms, and architectures
•Proficiency in MS Office and PageMaker
•Strong attention to detail
•Strong grammar, vocabulary, and overall able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences
