An engeniering company referent and specialised in energy systems is looking for its editor / reviser in English. If you want to join a growing company across Canada and the United States and work with engineers this position is for you!

We are looking for a bright, articulate English technical writer to support its expansion outside Quebec and into the U.S. and the rest of Canada. Exceptional English writing skills are paramount to be successful in this role whose primary goal is to help the incredibly talented engineers share their knowledge with clients and the market.

Reporting to the Director of Corporate Communication, the Technical Writer/Editor will work in close collaboration with multilingual engineering teams to produce high-quality client or market facing technical documents.

Based in Montreal or Quebec City, the successful candidate will be Ecosystem’s go-to person for English language technical writing and copy editing for all our geographies. Types of writing/copy editing assignments include Detailed Engineering Studies, Measurement and Verification Reports, technical whitepapers, conference and award abstracts, thought leadership articles and occasional support on proposal documents for clients.

Specific Responsibilities
-Coordinates the production of all English technical documents (including detailed study reports, white papers, etc.)
-Leads team meetings, ensures content production is aligned with internal/external client needs, and proactively ---- follows up with engineers, sales professionals, and graphic designers.
Meets document deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval.
-Collaborates with engineers through all stages of content generation.
-Maintains quality results by using templates and following document-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone.
-Edits documents and uses a critical approach to identify issues with clarity, consistency, or alignment with objectives, actively communicating with content providers to address gaps.
-Improves templates, maintains a central repository of model technical documents, updates databases, and contributes to the continuous improvement and consistency of communications resources and processes.
-As required, provides overflow support for company's Proposal Coordinators, assisting with the editing and coordination of RFP responses.

- salary between 70000 and 90000 dollars /year

Experience and Qualifications
Strong combination of communications expertise and technical knowledge, preferably in the field of mechanical engineering.
Experience writing and editing technical and business texts.
University degree in Engineering or related technical degree, with complementary studies focused on written communications is preferred.
3-5 years’ relevant experience.
Strong MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills.
Previous experience in a commercial real estate/energy/engineering firm a definite asset.

Superior English writing skills including spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Strong knowledge of French. Having worked in a French and English environment is an undeniable asset.
Impeccable attention to detail with a methodical approach.
Ability to demonstrate patience, resilience and versatility.
Excellent time management and project management skills. Must be able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
Ability to work successfully in a highly entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment.
Broader communications experience/knowledge beyond technical writing is desired. Experience with RFPs or marketing writing is an asset.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
Skilled at researching information and desire to learn.
