PROJECT ENGINEER - Contract Position

Based in Calgary, the Project Engineer will work along with the Project Manager in support of numerous day-to-day functions. The Project Engineer will also be the key interface with pipeline and facilities engineering for day to day issue resolution. The Project Engineer, when required, shall also represent the Project Manager at EPCM Consultant meetings when the Project Manager is unavailable.

Job Responsibilities:
- Supporting a Project Manager in the overall AFE and PDI process; design, cost estimates, reporting, and construction efforts of viable projects

- Assisting in the preparation of PDI phase and gate reviews for management

- Overseeing the engineering and design of the project

- Oversee the development and manage adherence to the project Design Basis Memorandum

- Ensuring effective communication and coordination between all disciplines and project participants including all internal stakeholders

- Ensuring that projects are completed safely, with minimal environmental impact, within all rules, regulations and industry best practices, and are considered an operational success

- Coordinate engineering work performed by internal and third party resources when outside of the Project Engineer’s scope of practice.

- Managing the design review and HAZOP Processes to ensure that final design is in compliance with all applicable standards and regulations, and ensuring that this design addresses all safety, environmental, asset integrity, and operational concerns

- Reviewing engineering deliverables

- Supporting the commissioning and hand-over of projects from Project Development to Field
Operations

- Creating and updating project schedules and forecasts throughout the project life cycle

- Developing new technical guidelines as appropriate

- Monitoring and reporting on progress of the project throughout the PDI process including monthly Project Development reports to the Project Manager.

Position Requirements:
-2 to 5 years of experience

- Need to come from a project environment

- Good communication skills.

- Facility and Midstream experience

- Brownfield Project Experience
