Responsibilities
1. Provides graphic design and production support on larger complex design projects under the direction of the Creative Designers. Provides graphic design services to internal
clients of low to medium complexity. Provides clients with workbacks and timelines. Designs and updates graphics, templates, digital assets, photographs and illustrations for a
wide variety of media and ensures alignment with clients’ requirements and BC Hydro’s brand standards.
2. Coordinates Creative Services work requests by: responding to routine enquiries about services offered by Creative Services; reviewing and determining if work requests are
within Creative Services’ scope of work; following-up with internal clients for additional information on work requests as required; scheduling work requests to Creative Designers
based on work complexity and workload; and escalating scheduling and scope of work issues to management for resolution as required.
3. Works with media vendors to set up and administer the invoice billing process. Reviews vendor invoices for accuracy prior to processing for payment and resolves invoicing
discrepancies with vendors.
4. Coordinates advertisements with media outlets for internal clients. Prepares radio scripts/creative for client’s approval. Arranges run/publishing dates with clients and media
outlets. Tracks run/publishing dates and compiles tearsheets to ensure delivery of advertisements by media outlets. Provides clients with proof of publication for print
advertisements.
5. Assists in the maintenance of the enterprise wide brand systems (such as Brand Shop, Ads Online, Sign Store and Image Library) to ensure templates, websites, products and
databases are current.
6. Processes sign requests from the Sign Store by reviewing request forms for completeness and follows-up with requestor for additional information. Provides requestors with
design proofs and completion date and sending sign design requests for printing. Follows-up with printer and requestor as required during the printing process.
7. Works with direction from internal clients to edit basic videos by: providing clients with workbacks and timelines; ensuring alignment with client requirements and BC Hydro’s
brand standards; providing revisions and amendments for client consultations and approval prior to delivery of final video products.
8. Prepares various reports (such as monthly activity reports, financial reports, safety, etc.) for management. Maintains departmental records, files, reports and related
documentation.
9. Coordinates onboarding/off boarding employees to Creative Services department. Coordinates and schedules safety, system and other training for Creative Services
employees.
10. Identifies and provides feedback to management on improvements to enhance workflow and process efficiencies.
11. Performs duties of a minor nature related to the above duties that do not affect the rating of the job.
Qualifications
Education and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Business, Marketing or related field
• Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Advanced English skills for professional environment, written and spoken
