Randstad C&P are currently recruiting for a Contracts Manager to work on a high-end scheme in Hampshire for a leading contractor! The company pride themselves on delivering exceptional quality and innovation in every project they undertake. The construction firm have been growing consistently over the last few years and have a strong order book moving into 2024, taking on a wide variety of projects with values of up to £80m.
The company are looking for a Contracts Manager with extensive experience in managing utilities works for large-scale construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of utilities works, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution, to ensure the successful delivery of the project on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive project plan for utilities works, including diversions, installations, and associated civils, in coordination with the overall project plan.
- Manage and coordinate all activities related to utilities works, including procurement, subcontractor management, resource allocation, and site logistics.
- Liaise with utility providers, local authorities, and other stakeholders to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and permissions for utilities works.
- Monitor project progress against established timelines and milestones, and take proactive measures to address any delays or issues that may arise.
- Manage project budget and expenditures for utilities works, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting on costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to ensure compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 5 years) in managerial roles, with a focus on utilities works for large-scale construction and/or infrastructure projects.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of utilities infrastructure, including water, gas, electricity, telecommunications, etc.
- Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Proficient in project management software tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and MS Office Suite.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional project teams.
