About the Role
As the Head of Finance, you will oversee all finance and accounting activities within the company, playing a crucial role in investor relations. Working closely with the founder, you will analyze financial performance, providing valuable insights and implementing strategies to drive profitability. Your responsibilities include monitoring and reporting on the financial performance of projects and the company, ensuring the finance team closes monthly accounts in a timely manner. You will manage statutory reporting and financial closing/reporting, while also developing and refining financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems.
Your role extends to spearheading fundraising efforts and managing investor relations. You will implement financial management mechanisms to minimize risk, manage budgets and cash flows, and predict future trends. Conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities will be a key aspect of your work. Additionally, you will develop external relationships with auditors, solicitors, bankers, and statutory organizations such as IRAS. Providing and interpreting financial information as needed, overseeing tax, internal controls, and audit-related matters, and handling financial reporting and consolidation for our Group of companies locally and overseas will also fall under your purview.
Supporting the formulation of strategic and long-term business plans, you will conduct research, analysis, and reporting on factors influencing business performance, running simulations and scenario analysis. Advising on and managing the setup of finance and accounting functions for affiliates, both locally and overseas, will be essential to your role.
Skills and Experience Needed
To be successful in this role, you must hold a minimum Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field. Having a Certified Accountant (CA) will come as a strong advantage for the role. With over 10 years of experience, preferably in Finance or Operations, you should have a proven track record in dealing with venture capitalists (VCs) and audits. Experience in the aquaculture, IoT, and AI industries will be highly advantageous.
Proven team leadership experience is crucial, as you will manage diverse teams effectively. Strong business operations skills and the ability to work in both local and international settings are essential. Active involvement in the implementation of ERP systems is required, alongside excellent communication skills at all levels within the organization, from entry-level employees to senior management. Your strong analytical and strategic thinking skills will enable you to contribute significantly to the company’s long-term planning and growth.
