The Company

Client is a wholly owned subsidiary of one of Australia's largest and most successful financial service providers, provides support services to its parent firm.

The Role

Client is seeking a person to lead the Kuala Lumpur office and this role reports directly to the CEO. Candidate must have experience overseeing the operations and administration of a company. Candidate will enjoy working in a busy, focused yet supportive and fun team. Strong communication skills, achievement orientation and self-discipline will be essential to achieve results.

Duties

  • Lead and manage 45 strong team of staff including overseeing team leads in various functions including IT Development, Testing, IT Infrastructure Management, Back Office Operations and Customer Service
  • Plan, develop and implement strategies for operational management and development
  • Monitor, measure and report on operational issues, opportunities, development plans and achievements
  • Capacity planning and resource allocation to meet organizational performance plans
  • Mentor team leads and assist with career development
  • Liaise with other departments in Australia and external parties in Malaysia.
  • Coordinate the financial and accounting aspect of the company with the outsourced accountants and providing the key local contact for the Group CFO
  • Lead the local operations function including transitioning further operations roles from Australia to Malaysia

Skills & Experience

  • A recognized Degree in Business/ Accounting/ Finance/ Management or relevant professional qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience at managerial level
  • Strong understanding of processes and methods in particular in back office operations in the stockbroking or wealth management industries
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills
  • Experience in performance management
  • Team player with strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
