As the Client continues to build new Technical Services team, we are looking to recruit a Client Platform Service Engineer who will be accountable for ensuring global software deployment services (using SCCM) are consistently available and high client health is maintained.

Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring software is deployed remotely using the system management tool, System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • Accountable for ensuring that SCCM clients are deployed at a consistent level (high client health) and maintained in line with Business Information Services KPIs.
  • Responsible for the packaging of applications for release to user images for devices used, e.g. PCs, Laptops, Mobile Devices etc.
  • Responsible for the packaging of system/application updates/patches for release to user images for devices used in line with Business Information Services (BIS) Technical and Operational standards.
  • Responsible for the on-going operational management of the SCCM toolset in line with BIS Technical and Operational Standards.
  • Ensure that documentation is maintained and kept up to date in line with JM standards and policies.
  • This role will be required to participate in the Major Incident Management process which may mean out of hours’ participation in incident resolution and service restoration. Additionally, some travel may be required.

skills & experience

  • Significant experience working with system management tools for the remote deployment of software and patching.
  • Either a recognised IT qualification OR significant IT experience.
  • Experience of creating installer package files (e.g. MSI) and experience of System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) configuration and tool management.
  • Additionally, the following are highly desirable: MTP in Administering and Deploying System Center 2012 Configuration Manager; experience of working with physical server environments and server operating systems, e.g. Windows and Linux; experience working to ITIL principles and experience working within a multi-site, global manufacturing organisation.
