About The Role

You will be responsible for providing guidance to business when it comes to advising and interpreting policies and controls related to Credit Risk and Market Risk. The employer is looking for a Risk Professional that possess excellent communication, strong leadership qualities and people's skill to support the strategic expansion business mainly focused in the Risk division. You will be reporting straight to Chief Risk Officer.

Job Descriptions

  • Formulating, reviewing and recommending strategies of Enterprise Risk Management (Credit & Market Risks) to manage the overall risks associated with organization’s activities to the Board of Directors (BOD) and its oversight committee (BRMC).
  • Develop, review and recommending the risk appetite and tolerance level, all major risks, its policies, guidelines and procedures to Board Risk Management Committee (BRMC) and Board’s approval.
  • Overseeing the development of methodologies for assessing, measuring, managing and monitoring credit & market risk exposures. Develop a suitable credit & market risk models and quantify and analyze credit risk segments for Management Committee Meetings and Board meetings.
  • Develop credit risk analytics and forecast reporting and work together with business units to drive decisions supported by statistical and / or quantitative approaches with minimum risk.
  • Managing and ensuring risk exposures are within the parameters set (i.e. Key Risk Indicator / High Risk Sector / Group Exposure) by the Board and ensuring that significant risk exposures are reported in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the development of pricing models and assumptions and communicating profit test result with the assistance of actuarial consultant.
  • Develop and maintain credit risk rating system for the measurement and management of credit risk for different segments of the Corporation’s portfolios.
  • Addressing issues raised by internal and external auditors, BNM and other regulatory bodies relating to risk management.
  • Co-joined assessment and involvement on stress testing analysis of the Corporation’s portfolio. 10. Provide independent decision for credit proposals to be tabled at Loans as well as for provide feedback and recommend resolutions for Business proposals/problems.
  • Assume responsibility of other relevant tasks as assigned from time to time.
  • Assist in monitoring attendance, performance and discipline of staff as well as assist in planning and recommending staff development and training requirements.

Job Requirements

Education : Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Master’s Degree and/ or Professional Degree, in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, Banking or Accountancy. Other relevant qualifications such as Professional Certification, ACE, CCP or qualifications related to credit & market risk assessment and/or credit evaluation/processing experience.

Experience : More than 7 - 10 years working experience in risk management preferably in the banking industry.

Knowledge : Strong exposure in Credit risk, Market Risk and credit operations, good understanding of financial concepts, relevant Basel and BNM guidelines. Exposure in insurance industry is an added advantage.

Skills : Excellent communication and report writing skills. Able to present reports to Management and Board.
