An exciting and rare opportunity has become available for a National Sales Manager operating in the scientific community with Auckland (North West region). Our client provides technical instruments, laboratory equipment, chemicals and consumables to a diverse portfolio of customers. They are the leaders in their field and are continuing to grow and expand.
This role is a true leadership position, we are looking for someone who can coach and mentor their team and build robust sales disciplines into the day to day.
A typical day in the life:
- Analyze key customer markets to identify sales focus and potential revenue opportunities
- Develop and implement sales growth plans for all sales specialists
- Drive team sales performance through multiple internal initiatives
- Identify and address key areas for improvement and develop on any performance gaps
- Ensure territory setup, portfolio activities and key events achieve objectives
- Infield coaching of sales specialists to improve strategic selling skills, product knowledge overall sales team performance
- Building strong relationships with Key Customers
- Conduct business reviews with key customers as required
A bit about you:
- Can engage and develop high performing teams
- Has a proven track record of sales performance and leadership
- Can comfortably lead through ambiguity and uncertainty
- Drives initiatives that increase performance, engagement and moral
- Holds a tertiary qualification in Science or related areas - this is essential given it is a niche, complex industry
- Posses high emotional intelligence, being able to connect with people and get the best out of them
- Financially literate, experience working with budgets, PNLs and commercial contracts
- Strong commercial acumen with influence and negotiations skills
