The company:

We are currently recruiting for a Payroll Team Leader/ Senior Payroll Administrator on a temporary basis based in Penrose. We are looking for a strong candidate with extensive experience within a volume payroll environment. You will be supporting a committed and competent workforce of around 3,000 employees across New Zealand. The company recognises the importance of training its people. About you:

You will need to be experienced Payroll Administrator who has some supervisory experience and is also happy to assist with the day to day running of payroll when required. You will be to be innovative, solutions focussed, resilient and have a can do attitude to get the job done. You will also need to be available immediately and be able to begin work on Tuesday 23rd October until the end of February 2019.

General duties:

  • Oversee the leadership and day to day running of the payroll team
  • Assist the Payroll Manager with various projects
  • Assist and mentor the payroll team as required
  • Manage the delivery of effective payroll operations on a fortnightly & monthly basis
  • Assist with the preparation of month and year end reports
  • Implement efficiencies within the department
  • Assist with answering complex queries from a range of different employees

Skills & Experience

  • Strong Team Leader experience within a large business
  • Proven experience in a similar - leadership experience is essential
  • Experience working in a complex environment, with the ability to interpret awards and EBA’s
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and staff at all levels
  • Current knowledge of Payroll legislation including, PAYG & Payroll Tax

What you will get in return:

As well as a supportive and collaborative work environment you will also receive a competitive salary between $85,000 - $95,000.
