This Wellington based role offers a candidate with significant tenure in the InfoSec industry the chance to join a growing practice of consultants. The company takes pride in ensuring it’s customers’ information and technology systems are secure and attack-ready, and feel supported throughout their own life cycle.

The Principal Security Consultant will be an expert in their field and are expected to take a leading role in performing consulting engagements, contributing to not only management business plans, but also growing a highly effective and engaged team.

This individual will lead by example through personal conduct and quality of work, and be a credible individual within the InfoSec industry, whilst encouraging and empowering staff and peers to do the same. The ability to effectively build and nurture relationships across internal and external stakeholders is imperative to the success of not only the individual’s, but also the wider business outcomes.

A naturally inquisitive person, the successful candidate will have an innate ability to solve complex problems and share these solutions in written and oral form across a variety of audiences, be they of a technical background or not. Whilst searching for solutions, the successful candidate will also demonstrate an eye for improvement across all functions, including process and plans.

This newly created position offers not only consulting opportunities, as well as team leadership, but also a strong focus on research too. Performing research projects in order to maintain and develop technical knowledge to be shared and utilised within the business, coupled with a strong focus on individual learning will provide you and your team with the platform for greater success in the future.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will have a solid grounding in penetration testing. A deep and comprehensive understanding of technology and security testing processes, as well as current trends and how these impact organisations, is essential. Ideally you will be a practitioner of information security, and perhaps actively maintain CISSP, CISA and/or CISM certifications, and bring a wide range of information security acumen to this role. You will bring an established track record of assisting clients across a varied portfolio which may include government, financial initiations and/ or telecommunication providers.

An ability to gain and maintain a security clearance is non negotiable. All applicants must hold existing work rights for New Zealand.
