Senior Advisor Strategy and Performance

In this senior advisory position, you be responsible for providing technical leadership and strategic advice as well as quality assurance. In addition you will be responsible for supporting the manager for strategy and performance, to ensure that the business is delivering to strategy, planning, reporting and accountability processes.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced advisor to join a complex organisation who are looking to make a positive impact on the lives of New Zealanders.


  • Develop and maintain strategic initiatives, which includes environmental scanning processes
  • Analyse and develop strategies that are relevant to the organisation and provide informed perspective.
  • Develop and coordinate effective planning and reporting processes
  • Coordinate information to parliamentary select committees for the estimates and financial review
  • Develop quarterly reports for the ministers
  • Build capability within business groups in relation to strategic initiatives
  • Develop and implement non-financial performance measurement and reporting
  • Undertake research, analysis and project work


  • Strategic finance experience in a large complex environment.
  • The ability to work with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent strategic, planning and analytical skills.
  • Finance or business qualification
  • Experience in commercial, analytical or strategy related roles
  • Government process experience or policy experience
  • Experience in issue analysis and report writing
  • Experience in supporting organisation strategic and business planning processes
  • Experience in developing accountability documents
  • Project management skills
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Great relationships management skills
  • Result orientated and sound political sensitivity
