This is a national volunteer role (Filipino nationals). This role contributes to capacity development needs of frontline sexual and reproductive health (SRH) service providers and staff of UnYPhil-Women. UnYPhil-Women is currently implementing various projects to improve access to reproductive health services of poor and underserved communities in at least 6 municipalities in Maguindanao province in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), the poorest region in the country that has been beset by episodes of intense armed conflict resulting to huge humanitarian and economic losses.

Allowance and accommodation All volunteers have an allowance paid in local currency. The allowance meets reasonable living expenses in country, but will not be enough to send money home. VSO works with some of the poorest communities in the world which means accommodation varies and will be basic.

• Health professional (medical doctor, nurse or midwife) or master degree in public health • Relevant, proven experience on SRH programmes • Experience on working with grassroots communities • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking • Strong communication, advisory, networking and advocacy skills Desirable • Experience on working in Mindanao, particularly in the ARMM • Knowledge and skills in participatory learning processes
