Responsibilities
Enter new jobs into the ERP system
Prepare requests for quotes (RFQ) and purchase orders (PO)
Assist the shop by prioritizing and streamlining rush part orders, ensuring timely packaging
Quote spare parts lists and handle reorders as necessary
Coordinate with suppliers to expedite critical parts orders
Assist with making travel arrangements for technicians as needed
Interpret engineered drawings to order parts accurately
Prepare work orders and inspection forms
Possess knowledge and expertise of local machine shops
Negotiate with vendors on purchases and resolve back charges for non-conforming products
Conduct and manage pre-qualification audits
Identify and develop new sources of supply
Procure components and services for project builds
Support product and project procurement activities in line with the production schedule
Contribute to the supply base and supplier development programs
Monitor supplier delivery and quality performance
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Quote and arrange freight for equipment and parts
Review and approve accounts payable invoices
Analyze material costing performance against project budgets
Assess project costing for actual versus budget performance
Qualifications
Certified Professional Purchaser (C.P.P) designation is an asset.
Supply Chain Management Professional Designation (SCMP) is an asset.
Relevant post-secondary education or current enrollment in a PMAC program
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills
Excellent problem identification and problem-solving abilities, with strong analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
At least 2 years of experience in a related field
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Experience in negotiation techniques
