    Process Safety Specialist Randstad Engineering are currently recruiting for a Process Safety Specialist to come and work for an industry leader in steel manufacturing. The role will be based within Group Health & Safety and will ideally be based along the M4 corridor in South Wales for ease of access to sites. The Role Reporting to the Process Safety Director, the purpose of the role is to reduce risk exposure of company and its stakeholders to Process Safety incidents and have zero mayor incidents. In this capacity, you will be required to assist with the development of medium to long term process safety strategies and policy, to ensure that the business operates within legislative guidelines together with enabling the achievement of our goal of Zero Major process safety incidents. Additionally, to provide support to the TSE businesses with process safety strategy and policy deployment, ensuring appropriate capability and focus is applied to establishing robust Process safety management systems and processes, thereby enabling the identification and active management of inherent process safety risks. To carry out this role successfully, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: StrategySupport the Director Process Safety in developing and deploying the Process Safety Management strategy, System and the Process Safety Excellence Roadmap.Support the business units in deploying the Process Safety Management System.Develop and communicate process safety standards for specialist topic areas (i.e. Barrier Management, Risk assessment, LOPA, OBRA, MOC, Human factors, Emergency Preparedness etc). Continuous ImprovementMaintain up to date knowledge and professional competence in process safety speciality to include legislative requirements and industry best practice.Be able to translate process industry best practice to the steel industry and liaise widely with industry Process Safety networks.Analyse and develop Process Safety KPI's such as LoC and work with hub management teams, process Safety experts and engineers to generate discussions how to improve.Develop Process Safety Toolbox, generating further required Standards, Code of Practices and Guides and deploy throughout TSE. Advisory ServiceProvide a professional health and safety advisory service that supports managers and engineers in their responsibilities with respect to process safety management.Lead process safety risk assessments and investigations of High Potential Process Safety Incidents.Assist in the review of existing process safety risk assessments. Monitor for ComplianceUndertake audits of the facilities to ensure systems are being deployed and standards are being met consistently across the business.Monitor the provision of process safety risk assessments by outside contractors, consultants or by OEMs Tata Group LiaisonLiaise and communicate with other high hazard facilities in the company to facilitate consistencyStrengthen the High Hazard Facilities Network across TSE. PeopleDevelop and deliver trainings on Process Safety to BSM and other levels of the organisation.Determine competence requirements for Hub personnel with regard to process safety speciality and advise on appropriate training and development.Coach and mentor Works Engineers/Managers, PHR leaders, Process Safety Engineers in the application of the process safety standards TravelExtensive regional travel within UK to access specific site locationsOccasional travel requirements to Mainland Europe and India The Candidate To be considered for this opportunity you will need the following technical knowledge and qualifications: Professional competence in area of specialityGood understanding of process safety management elements outside area of own expertiseDegree qualified, preferably in chemical or process engineering or equivalent.Experience preferably in steel or process industry operating under COMAH regulations.Ideally a Chartered member of IChemE or other accrediting body. You will require the ability to analyse complex problems and understand both probability and risk.A good communicator with strong interpersonal skills, you should also be capable of detailed investigation and analysis. Ideally you will have excellent influencing skills and the ability to deliver training effectively.
