Main Responsibilities

The Analytical Development (AD) Department is developing, transferring and validating various release, stability and product characterization test methods, performing required degradation, API stability, characterization and comparability studies.

The scope of this temporary AD Associate Scientist position is to support the existing Chemistry and Biophysics team in various areas of activities ranging from performing and optimizing current analytical methods as well as developing new analytical test procedures, independently and under supervision.

  • Perform and/or optimize chemical and biochemical methods using mainly RP-HPLC, HPLC-SEC, SEC-MALS, IC-PAD, IC-CD, GC-MS, LC-MS and CE. Target analytes include small molecules as well as proteins with posttranslational modifications
  • Improve existing test methods and propose/perform experiments for characterization/comparability studies
  • Write/update analytical test instructions and reports for the method in scope
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and analytical instruments
  • Perform assigned scientific experiments with low level of supervision
  • Actively collaborate and interact with various TLs, Scientists and laboratory technician

qualification

Who we are looking for

  • Master in Biochemistry or Chemistry, or comparable experience in bioanalytics
  • Scientific background with an analytical mindset for the analysis and interpretation of obtained results
  • Good time management and accurate work ethics to carefully document performed experiments
  • Keen perception and self-dependent way of working. Not afraid of taking ownership of assigned tasks, planned individually or with supervision, and delivered according agreed timelines
  • Good scientific writing skills and experience with scientific data analysis software, advanced IT skills (e.g. VBA in Excel, custom report designs in Chromeleon) are a plus
  • Your team spirit allows you to easily integrate into an existing team
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, German is a plus
  • Hands on experience with HPLC systems is a must – knowledge of SEC-MALS or saccharide analyses is a plus.
