Main Responsibilities

The scope of this AD Scientist position is to support the existing Molecular & Bio Assays team in various areas of activities. Your focus area will be analytical development of microbiological and/or molecular biology methods; testing of microbiological products and product-intermediates. You will be required to analyze test-articles, summarize and present experimental data, and to recommend conclusions based on scientific rationale.

You will perform various AD/QC activities, including planning and executing mainly microbiology-based assays; design of development, qualification/validation/transfer plans and writing reports thereof for microbiological/molecular biological methods; and support routine laboratory activities, such as maintenance of equipment and instruments, adequate handling of notebooks and log books, regular update of lab databases and tracking system.

Additionally, you will be required to manage and execute project tasks per established timelines, and to write technical memos, reports, and other documents, and to provide support to other units, such as Process Development, Manufacturing, QC, and others. You will also be required to support lab investigations as per standard operating procedures.


Who we are looking for

  • PhD/MSc (or equivalent) in Microbiology or similar field of study 
  • Excellent oral and writing skills for presentation of scientific data
  • Hands-on experience working with bacterial cultures and developing microbiological assays
  • Practical knowledge working with anaerobic bacterial species will be a plus
  • Hands-on experience with PCR methods will be considered an advantage 
  • GMP and/or QC experience will be a considerable plus
  • Team-player, tolerant with readiness to work in a multicultural environment
  • Excellent proficiency in English would be preferable. German knowledge is an advantage
