Under the Randstad Inhouse Services concept, Randstad becomes a full service supplier providing consultancy to international clients. For a long term temporary assignment for our client, the company Philip Morris International, based in Lausanne, we are seeking for an:

Communication Lead (External Affairs)

Temporary assignment


Support on PMSA's social media text/video/photo corporate and science content strategy in alignment with global external communication touchpoints and local assets. Ensure that key global and local initiatives are planned and amplified according to the relevant audiences and priorities.

Contribute to establishing the corporate and science focused publishing schedule for PMSA across social media streams.

Develop relevant stories and narratives within the company and across PMI to amplify, identify on trending topics and create a dynamic content offline (earned media, native media content) and online (theme capsules) pipeline which meets different audience interests and needs for the various platforms.

Continuously align with relevant communication stakeholders internally and externally in order to guarantee coherent, timely and synergized communication to consumers on core digital platforms throughout the business units.

Support the Head communication and EA department in rolling out cross communication initiatives and campaigns throughout the appropriate business units. For e.g, preparation of media toolkit for PR communication and events, background information for interviews, key company messages, and corporate positions.

Act as main agency contact in the company to ensure that content and issues on digital platforms are addressed accurately, as well as secure relevant approvals for crisis management, non-commercial content briefs and monitoring.

Instruct third party agencies to produce, edit and post non-commercial assets (e.g. ad-hoc text, photo and video) across social media platforms in a timely manner and ensure appropriate follow-up to ensure a flawless execution.

Coordinate on a timely manner responses on reactions from social media followers with internal stakeholders (Legal/EA).

Monitor and analyze media coverage about the company in print, online and social media with the appropriate tools.

Regular monitoring and reporting on social media initiatives, content sentiment, press reports, and corporate newsletters.


Fluent in English & German oral and written, with good knowledge of French

University degree or equivalent

Previous experience in a multinational environment, tobacco industry a plus

Good knowledge of the media landscape
