about the company

Our client is a successful FMCG company that is part of a global congolmerate group.

As they are currently embarking on their latest project of offering an omni channel retail experience, they are hiring for a Head of UXUI to provide the startegic vision to the team and higher managements.

The Head of UXUI will be a key person involved in ensuring the best online/offline user experience, and fully responsible in terms of user experience strategy, user research, interaction design and visual design of the e-commerce platforms across SEA.

Aside from an exceptional eye for details, you should possess a deep appreciation for user research in data analytics, and a solid knowledge of best practices in world class app & website experiences. You must be able to quickly grasp and distil highly complex matters into clean, understandable solutions.

about the job

  • Define the overall UX strategy and vision for the user experiences across all channels, aligning with our broader business strategies.
  • Ensure delivery of high quality UX and UI across multiple projects at any given time, providing oversight and guidance while empowering team members. Oversee the entire UX process from concept to prototyping to execution.
  • Identify user needs through various internal sources such as customer support and user research as well as external competitive benchmarking. Synthesize insights from multiple sources into user experience goals, and translate that into UI experiences that appropriately correctly balance user and business needs.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with cross-functional teams spanning all organizational levels, working collaboratively with other team.
  • Deliver guest experiences that are measurable and drive higher conversion and satisfaction across all digital platforms and products.
  • Plan, design and conduct in-field, remote and in-house user-centred research and usability testing sessions to support design and development.
  • Cleary communicate design, research findings and customer insights to cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Recruit, manage and mentor top digital UX/UI designers. Develop relationships with design firms and independent contractors.

skills & experience required

  • 8 years minimum of relevant experience in a UX/UI design role, with progressive responsibility shown.
  • Strong leadership, strategic thinking and practical organizational planning skills.
  • Expertise across all facets of human-centred design and user experience, spanning UX strategy, experience/interaction design, user research/assessment, prototyping, visual design and user adoption.
  • Experience translating user research, analytics and best practices into design decisions.
  • Possess a clear understanding of branding, strategic and marketing considerations, particularly in the digital arena.
  • Practical understanding (including capabilities and limitations) of current technologies used to build rich experiences (HTML 5, CSS, Javascript).
  • Successful experience leading large team of UI/UX people (5-10).
  • Compelling presentation skills to build and share inspiring visual stories, and articulate design decisions.
  • Superior relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills within cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
