Curriculum: England and Wales National Curriculum

Experience: Minimum 2 years post qualifying

Sponsorship: Single teachers preferred

Salary: The school offers a competitive salary of roughly €30,000 in a very low cost living location.

Contract: 1 year renewable

School Vision / Ethos:

This International School was founded in 2008 originally opening with 22 students and 9 staff and now has over 230 students aged 3 to 18 from roughly 35 nationalities with 40% Slovene. Following UK curriculum the school's academic programme is enriched by a range of curricular and extra curricular activities with some good facilities supporting. The school is an IT rich learning environment in a rapidly developing site (additional recreation space is being created for 2018/19). The school itself has some excellent accreditation and is part of a well known group of very good schools.

Location Overview

Ljubljana is a beautiful city with a rich history within one of Europe's most attractive Countries. It is the capital city in Slovenia and is well known as one of Europe's greenest and most liveable cities. With the emerald green Ljubljanica River running through the centre - its picturesque setting is awe inspiring and in summer when Cafe;s set up along the river its like a nightly street party. There is plenty to do in the city both culturally and socially - and with low cost living - and a great expat vibe you'll never grow tired of things to do.

Requirements:

You will be teaching Science at KS3 and IGCSE level and any Science specialisms can be considered.

The school follows the England and Wales curriculum and therefore UK trained teachers are preferred however the school welcomes applications from teachers with other curriculum experience who are adaptable and flexible. Applicants must posses EU citizenship in order to apply. Previous international experience is welcomed - but the current Principal really desires teachers who are flexible, cheerful, knowledgeable and interested in children and their success.

Package: The school offers a competitive salary in a low cost location. Salary is approximately €30,000 per annum plus annual stipend for those applying for head of department post. This provides a good quality of living. School will support finding good accommodation which will be highly affordable from your salary. Local excellent medical cover (state health service) is provided along with a daily food and travel allowance payment.
