School Vision / Ethos: This is a not-for-profit co-educational international school in South Korea. Initially starting out as a Primary school, this school is about to build upon their successful IMYC middle years section, to open IGCSE classes in August 2018 and IB classes in August 2019. This is a truly international school with students from all over the world. The school has excellent facilities for up to 540 students. There are 27 classrooms, a gymnasium, a large library, a science lab, music and art rooms, dedicated play areas for older and younger children, outdoor soccer pitch, basketball court, running track, rooftop garden, parents lounge and a cafeteria.

Location Overview: Located on a small island off the coast of Busan connected by a series of highways, tunnels and bridges (all superb engineering feats) is the city of Okpo. A small fishing village just 25 years ago it has over time emerged as a fully fledged city, still manageable but growing daily! Okpo serves the needs of one of the largest ship yards and docks in the world and draws an international collection of workers to its shores to work in the ship building and oil industry on the island. Busan has an international airport and regular flights to; Japan, Shanghai, the Phillipines and Thailand amongst many other destinations.

Requirements: The school is expanding rapidly. They need teachers with a minimum two years of full time class teaching experience in a similar type of school environment, such as an international school with a high level of understanding of the needs of EAL students in an international school environment. Ideally, applicants should be able to teach years 7-9 within the IMYC framework, years 10-11 in thorough preparation for IGCSE examinations and be able to teach Years 12-13 IB DP by August 2019. Applicants should be skilled in differentiation, have excellent team working and collaborative skills, show a commitment to school life and co-curricular programmes and to ongoing professional learning and skills development.

Package: The school offers a competitive salary scale based on qualifications and experience and range from KRW 30,640,000 to 39,640,000. The benefits package includes fully furnished housing for international teachers, a generous allowance for utilities, annual return flights to country of origin, monthly travel allowance, Korean medical insurance and pension. There is also a severance bonus equivalent to one month's pay for each year of service, based on the final year's salary. Full details of the salary and benefits will be provided during the recruitment process. It is important to note that teachers are obligated to pay 4.5% of salary toward compulsory government superannuation. Britain and New Zealand teachers will not receive this money back at the end of contract as there is no tax agreement between Korea and these particular countries. All other nationalities will receive full remuneration at the end of contract
