A well-established Designated Specialist Provision in Bradford is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to start as soon as possible. This is a long term contract until the end of the academic year.

The school accommodates for pupils with SEND diagnoses, SEMH and SEBD needs who struggle to access mainstream education. The role will involve working with a vulnerable year 10 student, requiring a strong understanding of the KS3 curriculum and the ability to support the student with both their learning and their social-emotional needs. The successful applicant will have a patient and caring disposition, with the ability to build meaningful relationships with students and their staff team.

The role will include:



* Supporting the student with educational needs in class, as well as with their social/emotional needs throughout the day
* Managing behaviour in line with the school's behavioural policy
* Working proactively with other team members including the class teacher, other teaching assistants, and support staff
* Ensuring the safeguarding of all students


Requirements:



* Experience of working with children or adults with SEMH/SEBD needs
* The ability to manage challenging behaviour
* The ability to engage with young people and form meaningful relationships
* Creativity and a proactive nature, with flexibility in your supporting style
* The ability to uphold a nurturing and caring presence
* (Team teach or equivalent de-escalation training is essential)
