Freehold Client Accountant - Negotiable Salary - Croydon

Are you an experienced Accountant? My clients, a leading property management company are in search of an Accountant to work in their client accounts team.


To offer the highest standard of service to clients/tenants.
Hours of employment are 9.00AM - 5.30PM : 25 days holidays per annum


* An good understanding of Residential Property Management and current legislation.
* Well-developed interpersonal and oral communications skills
* Problem dispute resolution skills

* Ability to work on own initiative
* Good numerical skills
* Diplomacy
* Ability to prioritise critical workload and work under pressure and strict time frames


* To reconcile and prepare all ground rent reports for freeholders at the agreed cyclical periods in line with our management contract. Investigating any discrepancies and applying adjustments where required.
* To generate cheques/bacs files for payment of ground rents to freeholders.
* To raise and circulate the ground rent applications to residents no later than 30 days prior to the due dates for payment, ensuring that the demands also include the correct legal notices to ensure their validity.
* Following the arrears collection process in line with the management contract to include the sending of reminders and potential referral for legal action.
* To liaise with freeholders, leaseholders or internal departments with regards to any queries they may have relating to ground rents.
* To keep up to date ground rent schedules to include rent review dates and freehold sale, lease extensions and deeds of variation and to update the PMS accounting system accordingly.
* Reviewing and auditing information contained in the development leases to answer queries and ensure ground rents are correctly billed.
* Loading new ground rent portfolios onto the accounting system.
* Bank reconciliations for the freehold client bank accounts.
* To manage all other duties as they arise as a result of the above and as a result of the growth of the operation and its subsidiary businesses
