Are you an experienced Accountant who is looking for a new opportunity to work a contract with a view to a long term opportunity in the team for the right candidate in Cumbernauld? Then this may be the perfect opportunity for you!

This role is to support the Financial Controller for the Plant, who heads up a very small team. Working in a through and through accountancy capacity, with little complex analytical work they will be managing month end, forecasting and ideally have some manufacturing experience in a previous cost accounting role.

The have to have:

- Proven management accounting experience.
- Be a real team player - this is a small team and all need to be willing to contribute
- Ability to work to deadlines

Responsible for developing and conducting cost analyses to support management in making operating decisions. Determines the appropriate data to collect to provide the most insightful data to guide decision making.

Key Responsibilities:

Develops and conducts cost audits and cost analyses. Conducts capital budgeting reviews. Analyzes cost variances, determines root causes, and prepares recommendations and alternatives for improvements. Identifies data analysis needs, and works with appropriate departments to obtain the data on a regular basis. Prepares analyses and drafts materials presenting strategic recommendations to be made to management. Ensures inventory accounting is accurate and leads the physical inventory process, verifies cycle counting process and verifies the inventory valuation process.


Ideally will have a College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required BUT must have at least a HND.

Progress toward Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification preferred - part qualified will also be considered if experience is demonstrable.
