Building Surveyor - London

Are you seeking for a new challenge? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Surveyor based with a London Authority.

Post: Building Surveyor
Hours: 36 hours per week Monday - Friday

The role of the Building Surveyor is to provide specialist technical and specialist advice on building issues and to implement an effective strategic project management service to support the delivery of the Council's vision and priorities.

The main duties of the Building Surveyor are as followings;

* To work effectively as part of the Corporate Property and Asset Management team.
* To deputise as a signatory for the Head of Corporate Property & Asset Management on BSc, MRICS matters.
* To be responsible for implementing the Council's performance and project management standards and take the appropriate action to address issues that may arise.

* Undertake the design, specification and tender of construction works. When acting as Contract Administrator ensure work undertaken by project team members complies with design briefs, current best practice and all appropriate legislation.

* To be responsible for all stages of projects from inception through to completion, including resolution of defects and agreement of final accounts.

* To be responsible for the procurement, management and control of contracts ensuring contractors are effectively managed.


* Building ONC, CIOB/RICS, ideally chartered surveyor or equivalent
* HNC/degree or equivalent
