Our client - a universal bank and global leader in finance, with one of the world's most recognisable brands - is seeking to engage a new Category Manager on a permanent basis. You will support the Global Category Manager across various areas involving Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) activity. Examples could be KYC operations, Transaction Monitoring operations, Banking Operations(Account Opening/Closure, account queries etc) and CRS Fatca support. You must closely with the business to develop plans and identify opportunities for efficiencies. Particular areas requiring support - BPO (KYC, AML and Banking Operations e.g. Account Opening/Closure/ CRS Fatca support delivered via third party outsourced agreements). You will develop influential senior level relationships e.g. Global Head of KYC/Transaction Monitoring. Most importantly, you will be expected to manage and influence ultiple stakeholder relations across geography.


The Category Manager will sit on relevant stakeholder committees and positively influence appropriate forums of the businesses/ functions. The Category Manager will also be responsible for the following:

- Supporting the creation of sub-category strategies and plans to achieve or exceed agreed savings targets for the category.
- Driving business outcomes and behaviours with subject matter expertise to drive value through the category planning lifecycle.
- Constantly monitoring supplier market and identify opportunities resulting from new product offerings and/or market shifts (e.g. entry or exit of suppliers, changes in pricing, risk on category).
- Seeking alternatives to current category specifications/ demand parameters.
- Working closely with the business stakeholders to agree plans to drive efficiencies
- Influencing the businesses and driving the application of a variety of commercial models to drive the most appropriate business outcomes.
- Supporting Supplier Management in the classification of new suppliers to determine the most appropriate SRM treatment.
- Working with Heads of Procurement, their teams and Procurement Operations (Resource Management) to manage dynamic resourcing within the category to deliver sourcing projects.
- The Category Manager will be responsible for at least one procurement category. The spend managed by the Category Manager will be between $100m and $500 million USD per annum. Number of suppliers = 1000 but typically 5 or 6 key critical relationships


- Substantial experience in a Category Management/Procurement role in a global, complex organisation
- Significant experience of managing large and complex deals with multinational suppliers
- Solid end-to-end sourcing experience
- Ability to build relationships and influence senior stakeholders (Global Heads of function)
- Ability to navigate and work in a large complex global organization
- Expert in sourcing and category management processes
- Ability to drive projects through to completion
- Specific expertise/knowledge across BPO, Banking Operations, KYC and Transaction Monitoring would be advantageous (not not essential)
