Deputy Ward Manager

Location: Tadworth, KT20

Salary: £34,000pa - £36,500pa

Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours

This facility provides specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to adult males with enduring mental ill-health and/or personality disorders. It is a step down facility- residents may have come from a secure service but they are ready to take the next steps in developing independent living skills. This service offers care to 21 service users who live in self-contained studio apartments.

Responsibilities



* Assist the ward managers in coordinating the work of the nursing team including staff training, duty rotas and making adjustments to manage short term cover to manage emergencies.


* Have an assertive and unrelenting focus on the performance of the nursing team and take definitive action when performance falls below acceptable levels.


* Support the Ward Manager in the planning and implementation of service developments by retaining a highly skilled and motivated nursing workforce, conducting regular supervision, appraisals and probationary meetings.


* Support and lead regular patient feedback mechanisms, e.g satisfaction surveys, community meetings as well as coordinating complaints and incident investigations and management cases.

Requirements



* NMC registered and 2 years of nursing experience; RMN only


* Experience in a similar senior post is desirable


* You will be committed to championing independence, choice, and dignity in the home


* You must have the ability to communicate at all levels and build trusting relationships
