Chartered/ Near Chartered Structural Engineer needed by a civil and structural design consultancy for their office in Paddington.

The company are involved in design projects for a wide variety of different sectors including buildings, bridges and infrastructure projects such as tunnels and rail projects. You will be working on small/medium value projects which include residential, commercial, retail and rail related structures.

The suitable candidate will have several years experience as a Structural Engineer, some of which must be UK based. You should be Chartered (preferably with the IstructE) or nearing Chartership and have excellent experience in a variety of different types of buildings. You should have experience in designing in concrete, steel, masonry and timber. You must have skills and experience using structural design and analysis software such as TEDDS, SCIA Engineer etc.

The suitable candidate will be eager to improve themselves and be hard working. You should be quick and methodical with good attention to detail. You must be able to work under pressure and able to work independently as well as helping those more junior. You should also have excellent communication skills as this will be a client facing role.

Ideally, you will have experience in rail related projects, however these are not essential.

This role may suit someone who has aspirations to be a future Associate.

You should also note that the company may move their office from Paddington to Croydon so you should be prepared for to commute to either location.
