Randstad Engineering are currently looking to source a Chassis CAD Manager to work for a prestigious OEM based in the West Midlands.

The purpose of this role is to manage a small team of Chassis NX CAD Engineers.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

* Control the work load and quality of an external CAD partner.
* Develop and maintain CAD processes and procedures.
* Complete CAD work in NX as well as management tasks.
* Ensure CAD models are managed, stored and named in accordance to the company standards.
* Work with Component Engineers and Concept team to generate new concepts and models.
* Support digital builds.
* Meet Programme specific requirements for virtual build and metrics.
* Complete appraisals for any permanent members of the team.
* Recruit new CAD Engineers if required.

Qualifications and Experience

* Engineering Degree in appropriate discipline
* Completed relevant CAD training courses.
* Extensive experience gained as a CAD Engineer within the automotive industry.
* Experience working in a Chassis department.
* Experience within a Management role (desirable)
* Able to organise a team's workload and quality of work.
* Capable of generating procedures and standards
* Working to tight deadlines
* Able to manage the workload and productivity of an external CAD partner
* Skilled NX user as management will take less than 20% of job role
* Fully capable with 2D drafting. (desirable)
* Able to work as part of a small team and actively participate in creation and development of innovative design solutions within the CAD environment.
* Good working knowledge of VIS Mockup and Team Centre.
* Competent in Microsoft Office applications
