Travelling across the UK, you will be based in a different location daily.

Supporting our clients plastic assets by competitively and profitably procure and coordinate third party recyclate to feed our clients plastic processing facilities.

To develop a strong working knowledge of commodity specialism, and use expertise to effectively build markets, reviewing, monitoring and understand commercial trading implications and how to navigate them effectively.

To negotiate effectively and optimise the market, develop strategies based on market knowledge and fully exploit market conditions for the benefit of VRM.

To competitively procure quality sorted Plastics recyclate materials, sourced from our clients regional operations, and Local Authorities and other reputable third-party organisations, as direct by VRM to meet our sales order requirements and customer expectations.

You must remain aware at all times of your responsibilities for your own Health and Safety, for the Health and Safety of those directly responsible to you, your work colleagues and any others who may be affected by the operations under your responsibility or control. Build a detailed understanding of customers, markets, competitors, legislation and trading implications, which including commodity forecasting and achievements.

Continuously monitor markets and both gather and provide business intelligence on recyclate material types, values, customers and competitors at both a regional and national level.

Assist in innovation projects to find new ways of optimising production of recyclates.

Procure quality sorted recyclate materials, to secure materials sourced from our clients regional operations, and Local Authorities and other reputable third-party organisations, as directed by VRM,

Negotiate effectively on buying and selling of recyclate materials to optimise the deal, and leverage and exploit market conditions.

Put in place effective contractual vehicles for the acquisition of commodities, that minimise risk and maximise performance for VRM.

Work with VRM Logistics Operations to coordinate the timely collection and transport of goods from source to end customer through the Logistics Departments of VRM or VGR as appropriate, ensuring at all times that your supply chains optimise costs, performance of transportation and positively impact VRM's bottom line.

To operate in compliance with all EA regulations and the companies ISO14001 EMS, 9001QMS, 18001OHSAS, PERN, PRN and AQSIQ Accreditations procedures necessary to deliver the above objectives ensuring that all times ensure all materials being prepared for sale and ultimate collection are properly sorted to standards compliant with end customer specification, environmental legislation and the Transfrontier Shipment Regulations.

Work with the Customer Operations team to plan, organise, liaise with client and ensure all commercial, transport and administrative requirements and weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting of key client accounts are undertaken fully in a timely manner in compliance with contractual obligations and VWM, VGR, VPR or VRM requirements and liaise with all departments as appropriate.

Undertake all commercial calculations and re-calculations as appropriate and liaise with client and VWM, VGR, VPR or VRM depts as necessary to ensure correct Shipping and or Billing system entry at all times and ensure associated subcontractors and suppliers invoicing is correct at all times. 11. To monitor multi-tiered risks associated with your commodities and where appropriate manage and mitigate risks and at all times, complying with policies is escalating risk


You must have proven commercial procurement experience within the recycling industry or other competitive procurement environment.

You must have a detailed knowledge of all grades of recyclable materials types (but especially plastics), their end uses, and market purchase and sale values.

You must have and maintain at all times a good understanding of the supply and demand cycles and market influence factors, competitors and trade prices of all materials.

You must be a strong commercially astute negotiator.

You must be a well organised, logical and creative thinker.

You must be self-motivated with the ability to work to targets and deadlines.
