We are looking for a Compliance Engineer to work in Shoreham on a permanent or contract basis. This could be the perfect opportunity for you to work for a successful Manufacturing business!

The Compliance Engineer will focus on maintaining the certification portfolio whilst working with project engineers to achieve certification on new products and systems.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



* Prepare certification documents and maintain technical construction files
* Coordinate certification activities with certification bodies
* Work with certification bodies to develop partnership relationships in terms of cost, scope, and timescale. Monitor and report on certification bodies performance in delivering on targets
* Contribute to project execution as the certification expert to ensure project scopes are achievable
* Work with project and applications engineers to define certification requirements for each project.
* Ensure project certification documents are compiled to correct standard and define timescale for submission to the certification body
* Maintain a certification planning tool to monitor current and future certification activities
* Provide management updates on progress of current open certification programmes and risks in both: issued certification requiring review / updates and steps to achieve new certificates
* Maintain certification document management system - both paper and electronic in line the legal requirements
* Provide input into the commercial team on new project opportunities: supporting quotations and project planning activities to ensure certification aspects are included and are achievable

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE



* Proven experience in a similar role or compliance environment
* Ability to create technical reports and certification documentation
* Experience of working with technical design standards and ability to perform clause to clause assessments to standards
* In depth knowledge of the ATEX directive
* Degree or HND in an engineering or science-based programme; with a solid understanding of engineering principles
* Highly motivated/self-starter with excellent communication skills
* Ability to run multiple projects concurrently
* High attention to detail with strong organisational skills

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE



* Work experience within a notified body would be advantageous
* Knowledge of the machinery directive, risk assessment processes, technical standards EN 1834 & ISO 80079-37
* Exposure to CE marking and creation of CE technical construction files

* Training will be provided on an as required basis
