A public secondary school for boys aged 11-16 is seeking a computing teacher for the summer term with the possibility of a permanent vacancy thereafter. The school is an exciting phase of its progression with a new head teacher having been appointed this year. On visiting teacher of the school quoted "Students know to behave and respect each other. There is such a lovely atmosphere at St Andrews". The school is within a mile of the nearest train station and is easily accessible by car from the A27 between Brighton and Chichester.

Programming is at the heart of their curriculum and it is important to the school that the boys leave KS3 with the ability to read and write code which is then built on in KS4 and has seen some outstanding results. 97% of computer science pupils achieved grades 9-4 in the most recent GCSE results.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Preparing lessons in line with the curriculum for computing and ICT
* Adaptability to ensure students are challenged depending on their varying needs
* Setting challenging homework to aid evaluation of the quality of the lesson
* Marking and providing clear and concise feedback on completed work
* Effective management of classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning atmosphere
* Ensuring and assessing the safety and safeguarding of children

Key requirements for the position include:

* DBS - In date, with no reprimands which prohibits the successful candidate from working with children
* Relevant qualifications - a degree along with relevant teaching qualifications (ie PGCE)
* QTS is desirable - NQT applications are warmly welcomed
* Experience of teaching computing with ICT is essential
* Strong commitment and a positive attitude to the role and objectives
