Are you an experienced demand planner looking for some immediate temporary work? Do you have previous experience of managing inventory, forecasting and business analysis to ensure stock levels and availability are kept to their optimum levels? I am recruiting for a demand planner for one of my Thatcham based clients. This temp to possible perm opportunity is working within a busy team of experienced planners, where your role plays a pivotal part to the operation of the business. The position will be focused on demand planning, and you will be working with colleagues in the team to ensure stock is available to the business when required. Based within an office environment, you will be working closely with the warehouse and logistics team. You will have regular contact with suppliers and internal customers via email and phone, and your ability to build strong relationships with these key contacts is essential to the success of this post.

*28 days holiday rising to 34 after 12 weeks. This include Bank Holidays

Your main duties and responsibilities for this position are;
*Responsible for stock holding and availability
*Manage the minimisation of holding costs
*Procuring new stock fro suppliers based on forecast projections
*Update all systems in accordance with policy
*Create and manage purchase orders
*Tracking orders and investigating any problems arising
*Understanding customer requirements and making informed decisions which balance customer needs with optimal stock levels
*Forecasting and planning stock levels within the business
*Produce reports and data as required
*Performing routine administration duties including data entry, answering telephones and assisting customers

Key skills and attributes required for this opportunity are;
*Minimum of 2 years experience within a demand planning/procurement or purchasing position
*Must have previous experience of stock forecasting and planning
*Use of Oracle would be a huge advantage
*Strong MS Office skills with advanced Excel
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills
*Comfortable in taking control and ownership
*Very strong analytical and problem solving skills
*You must be a team player with a flexible attitude to work
*Comfortable dealing with customers and suppliers
*Organised in your approach with a proactive and self-motivated personality
