Senior Nursery Practitioner / Deputy Manager - Kirklees

Are you an enthusiastic Early Years Professional with previous experience in a management position? Are you looking for term time only hours to fit around your lifestyle?

This position is in a small pre-school setting for children aged 2-4 yrs. This role is to start in Sept 2018 and will go through untill July 2019, during Term-Time only. The working hours are 20 hours a week and the salary is between £8-9 per hour.

The ideal candidate will play a key part in the day to day running of the room and the Nursery, helping to ensure there is a positive and safe environment for the children at all times. Flexibility is key for this role and you must have confidence in leading and creating activities.

Main responsibilities:

* Room Leader within the Pre-School
* To plan effective activities for children of all abilities
* To observe, monitor and provide constructive feedback on children's progress
* To understand the roles of parents and carers in children's learning and demonstrate ability to liaise with parents and carers sensitively and effectively
* To provide necessary personal care to children
* To organise, lead and motivate a team, and work well as part of it
* To demonstrate very good numeracy and literacy skills
* Take the designated role of Safeguarding role within the setting
* Ensure all policies and procedures are met to Ofsted requirements and to ensure the safety and well-being of the children


* At least 2 years experience in a Senior role within an Early Years setting - (Preschool, nursery, nursery school)
* Relevant Childcare Qualification - CASH Level 3, BA (Hons), NVQ Level 4, PGCE
* Up to date knowledge on EYFS and OFSTED Requirements
* Up to date DBS Certificate
