On behalf of a highly successful and regional main contractor, we are recruiting for a Design Manager who can work as part of the pre-construction and post-contract delivery team on new build projects form £5m to £50M

Predominantly based in the Cambridgeshire region, the successful candidate will be responsible for the design development and delivery. Duties will include:

* The appointment and management of external design consultants
* Report on compliance and project design development and take responsibility for the delivery of the design deliverable pre and post contract
* Work closely with both pre and post construction teams, design consultancy and third party sub consultancies to deliver design teams for project specific requirements
* Responsible for the design management on construction projects both pre contract and post contract
* Production of the risk register, consultant scopes CP's, working closely with the pre construction director and bid team to prepare bid submissions
* Production of appointment documents, Chairing design team meetings and detail design workshops, project reports, samples registers and management of the IRS
* Managing the design to achieve given environmental accreditations e.g. BREEAM where appropriate


* Degree (or equivalent) in Construction Management, Structural / Civil Engineering, Architecture or other construction related discipline
