Are you looking for a role to work flexibly around your family or other work commitments? Do you have a passion for helping people dealing with substance misuse or addiction? We are currently working with several Drug and Alcohol services in the North east of England that require Nurses to work on a flexible basis during the week and weekends.

You will be responsible for a group of clients ensuring they are receiving the care and interventions to support with their treatment and recovery from substance misuse. This role will be suitable for a Nurse with over 1 year post qualification experience working with substance misuse/addiction or a prison environment.

Shift pattern: Flexible

Pay rate: £16.50+ per hour and enhancements on weekends

The role requires qualified and experienced Registered Nurses (RMN/RGN/RNLD) with an active NMC pin, experience in a similar setting is required.

The services have free parking, access to local public transport and local shops and amenities.

Specialist training will be available at request.

As a Nurse you will be responsible for:

-Administering medication to clients within the required time scales

-Providing support and therapies to aid recovery

-Changing dressings/ assisting support workers with daily duties

-Completing daily observations/notes

-Updating care plans

-Using the unit's system to record data and manage appointments for residents

To be successful in this role you must demonstrate:

-An understanding of the role required from a Staff Nurse in a substance misuse/prison environment.

-Excellent verbal and written communication

-Ability to work well as part of a team and take the lead when needed.

-Experience in challenging working environments.

-Ability to think on your feet and act with initiative.

The minimum requirements for this role are:

- NMC registered

- Nursing qualification (RGN/RNLD/RMN)
