English Teacher immediate start until summer term

Are you an experienced and qualified English teacher?
Have you worked within a secondary environment?
Do you have experience with teaching learners with behavioural and emotional difficulties?

An English teacher is being sought for an alternative provision school within the area of Tilbury, Essex. This school is dedicated to the learning of children and young people who are having difficulties attending and maintaining a permanent place in mainstream education.
As part of this team, you would be teaching English to a given curriculum for Key stage 3 and 4 (year 10 and 11), where the focus will be to engage learners in the subject and drive them forward. You will be inspiring the learners to take this subject to the next level.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Preparation work
* Setting and marking work
* Liaising with the teaching assistant within the class
* Liaising with relevant departments regarding the learner's progression
* Reporting to head of department

An ideal candidate would possess the following capabilities and competencies:
* Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
* Knowledge and understanding of the English curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4
* A clear understanding of SEND, emotional, social and behavioural difficulties and mental health
* Building a rapport with individuals and maintaining those links with them
* Breaking down those barriers that could limit an individual's potential to learn
* Making learning fun and well as educational and being able to embed this into the lessons
