A mixed gender public secondary school for ages 11-16 is seeking an English teacher for the summer term and possibly beyond. They are currently going through some exciting changes, having appointed a new head with a proven track record to help move the school towards an 'outstanding' rating. The location is within a mile of the most local train station, which is on the London to Brighton mainline. It is easily accessible by car, being close to the A27 and A23.

* Access to Randstad's benefits and discounts app
* Fantastic learning and development opportunities

Your responsibilities will include:

* Preparing lessons in line with the curriculum for English
* Teaching courses in English literature & language
* Instant thinking and problem solving to set additional tasks for strong students or provide additional support to weaker students
* Preparing and explaining challenging homework
* Marking completed work with effective feedback
* Managing behaviour effectively
* Constantly reviewing and ensuring the safety and safeguarding of students

Key requirements for the position include:

* An in-date DBS check with no reprimands which would prohibit you from working with children

* Experience of teaching English (essential - this role is not appropriate for teachers with English as a foreign language)
* A positive, forward-thinking attitude to reflect your passion for the subject
